Who we are

Science and Research Club is a coalition of students who share common interests in the fields of Biological Sciences. Whether it be fascination with research and development, industry and production, or medicine; the Science and Research Club and its constituents intend to put their passion to good use by utilizing their knowledge and skills to give back to their community. The San Francisco Bay Area – Peninsula is the “Birthplace of Biotechnology” and having recognized this, we intend to take full advantage of having the hub of biotechnology (which is right in the backyard of Skyline College) and extending its exposure and opportunities to a wider reach.

One of the many advantages that Skyline College Students have its ever-expanding network of Biotechnology Companies such as Genentech, Thermofisher, Bio-Rad, 23&Me, etc. The Science and Research Club is a precursor to potential consistent connections between Skyline College Students and the many internships and job opportunities available through these growing entities.
With many institutions such as Stanford University, University of California San Francisco, University of California Davis, etc., present in the area, it is natural for today’s most brilliant minds in the fields of research to congregate periodically and share ideas. Many conferences are held over the course of each calendar year, where the leading scientists of their fields share their discoveries and ideas not only to their peers of current scientists, but to the general public. The Science and Research Club recognizes that exposure and immersion are major components in advancing one’s knowledge of their craft; and being surrounded by individuals who have paved the way for current students who are following careers related to Biological Sciences is an excellent way of doing so.
